January 13th 2017

May I present my dearest possession (not counting my husband and children who always wins :0).
I have had it for 20 years so far and it sews like a dream still. It probably needs a little bit of oiling up at the moment, no wonder since its 47 years old!
It has only got the basic stitches which is all I need really. To be fair it has got a lot of ornate stitches which you choose by fitting  a big plastic "screw" at the back of it and choose that colour on the dials at the front. Do not use them very often, but some of them are really pretty.

This is the latest memory blanket I have made up. It`s for 2 adorable boys to share. Hope they have lots of cosy snuggles underneath it together.

Mom chose the grey elephants for backing fabric. Good choice as they are so cute lined up and also a neutral colour that don`t compete with the colourful squares at the front.

This another one just finished. Spots for backing this time. You can`t go wrong with the spot.

Why not treat yourself to a memory blanket. Pull all the outgrown baby clothes out of the attic and make something of them that you can enjoy everyday.
Is your son or daughter moving away from home? Why not treat them to a memory blanket to make them feel loved even when you are not there to remind them.
Visit my shop at etsy.com to order yours.

Spread the love

C O O K I E

D E C O R A T I N G

I dearly hope that you have had a fab Christmas.
Maybe some time to relax, eat and to be merry.

What I love about having time off is that you get to do all the things that you wanted to do forever but life got in the way. One of those things for me is cookie decorating, you know the ones that are beautifully flooded with colorful icing and look good enough to eat ;0)
Finally this morning it happened, I had some time for myself, children still in bed (teenagers on holiday time, bliss) and I went to the freezer and found a tin of biscuits I had forgotten about. Sometimes everything works in your favor.

I loved every minute of it and have to make sure I have more sugar cookies in the freezer for the next time the moment presents itself.
If you would like to get some inspiration please have a look here, here and here. I might have to practice a bit more to get that good, but I will sure enjoy trying.

If you like me need a really fab tutorial please visit the bearfoot baker for some expert tips and tricks. She even has a super recipe for sugar cookies.
She makes it looks so easy and with such beautiful result.

It is pretty delicate work and takes a steady hand which I had, sometimes anyway :0)

This is the one that I am most proud over, the little rabbit with swirly pattern. I dotted small blobs of dark blue runny icing and swirled them around with a tooth pick while the white icing was still wet. The trick is to stop in time and not overdo it.

I used matches to blob and tooth picks to swirl and spread the icing.

When my daughter decided it was morning :0) she joined me and had as much fun as me.It was like a regular production line in the end!

Keep playing
